Wii Therapy

Please note, we offer the Fit component of Wii therapy, too. Some journal articles have only considered the Wii as a therapy without considering the balance platform of the Fit. The balance platform gives immediate weight bearing feedback and motivation for the patient to participate.
We are now offering an exciting, new adjunct therapy to our P.T. practice. Our purpose to aide with weight bearing awareness and motivation/fun. We are using the Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit to give our patients an exciting, interactive method of balance training, proprioception, strengthening, aerobics and range of motion exercises. We have the sports package as well which has Tennis, Golf, Bowling, Baseball and Boxing which can benefit patients needing active range of motion. There is a now a "fun factor" that makes therapy more appealing and helps with compliance. Our clinic is geared for keeping things light and fun already, so the Wii is a perfect fit. Since this is part of an exercise program, insurance will cover this just as they would any type of exercise developed by the therapists.
